The apartment complex is under new management. The new staff are very kind and professional. I have NOT had a problem with pests (i.e. rats, snakes, etc) that other people have posted. The apartment I have moved into is in great shape. Yes the floors creak, and the air conditioner/heater is noisy, but let's face it, this isn't the Hilton. You definitely get what you pay for, and rent is affordable. The only problem I have encountered is when the snow falls and covers the ground, the hill is difficult to negotiate. But overall, the place is very homely. I've had a number of friends say that the apartment is "cozy and comfortable." Whether you like outdoors (some of the apartments overlook a very scenic tree line) or you're a pool goer (the pool area is very nice and well kept), this apartment complex is a great place to live.

I've lived at Ashland Manor for about 2 years now and have found it to be a very nice apartment complex. I moved in during kind of the "off" season (middle of June) and the staff was very helpful with getting an apartment set-up for me. In response the the other ratings - there is new management and she is wonderful to work with should an item need to be discussed. I've never had varmints of any kind come into my apartment while living here. There have been a few spiders, but spiders are for sure manageable and can easily be taken care of. While the floors may be creaky and the heater not be the most quiet it is still a very good apartment. During the summer, the pool is always clean. As for the winter months, during the snowstorms we had in 2011 they kept the roadways clear (as much as possible with crazy amount that fell). It is sometimes difficult to make it up the hill with snow/ice, but doable if you know how to navigate in icy conditions. I've met some good folks in my apartment building and have always felt it to be a really safe complex. Don't hesitate to check the place out - you may find it's just what you've been looking for!
Great Place to Live! Helpful Staff, Hard Working Maintenance Employees, and Friendly Neighbors

We've lived here 1 year and signed contract for another year. Since they changed the manager, our needs of fixed things are quickly response, such as replacement of brand-new fridge, -new front door, -new curtain, cleaning falling leaves in front and back of house. The staffs are nice. My friends come to visit and like the townhouse a lot, some of them moved to this place. Only thing I dislike is the second floor is creaky. The utility in winter is from $200-$300, in summer about $120-$150. They also offer free storage place for your furniture while waiting to move in. I like the spring on the backyard opening a very nice view. Very near to bus station and campus. Absolutely recommend to others.

Lived in this apartment for 2yrs and i have to admit it was a great apt to live in. I had to move out of Columbia that's why I left if not i would have definitely signed another contract. Management is great and these apts are about 35yrs old so expect to see a few flaws but nothing big enough to drive one away from renting. Very safe and close to mizzou football and basketball.
Great Views! New Manager! Timely Maintenance!

I have been here for 6 months now, and I have to say, this is the best Apt Complex I have ever lived in! It is a nice, quiet community. The few times that I have needed to call maintenance, they have been so attentive, and they took care of the problem the day I called. The pool is wonderful, and kept very clean. The one thing the I absolutely love...there are no bugs!! I have not seen one bug in my apt, it is wonderful. The staff have been so kind and courteous. I would recommend this place to anyone!!
I really couldn't ask for better!

Let me start off by saying that this is my very first apartment and I've been here for about 9 months. I am not a student (don't have loans helping with rent) and I work at a Bar & Grill as a host/server and I don't ever have any struggle paying rent each month. I think Ashland Manor has unbeatable prices for apartments and townhomes in this whole town and they are in a safe & convenient area too! It's right in town so if you don't have a car that's no problem, if you do have a car that's even better because you don't go through gas so much in a town like this! Maintenance is always on top of things when you call. Each apartment building has its own laundry room and also a storage room. What's really great is there is all trees and woods surrounding the apartments, you wouldn't even notice your still in town with all the privacy. The only thing is that these apartments are pretty old so if your wanting something that's almost brand new and recently built then this isn't the place for you... But for the price and the location, I really couldn't ask for better. I really like it here and will stay here for a good while. Thanks Ashland Manor!

I have only good things to say about Ashland Manor. Great customer service and prompt responses on all maintenance issues. I have lived here over a year and have had only minor issues. The biggest issue I can think of is the garbage disposal is somewhat spotty. Very small compared to what I've seen other reviews say. I love the neighborhood and love being so close to the Hinkson Creek Trail. Recommend to anyone looking for a cheap but high quality 1-2 bedroom apartment!
I have only good things to say!

One of the better places I've lived at in regards to maintenance. If anything broke down (which was infrequent), someone came to fix it within 24 hours. I was quite impressed. As a graduate student, I also appreciate how over 3 years of living at Ashland Manor, I NEVER had to call in a noise complaint. Neighbors were quiet and kept to themselves, which was much appreciated. It is also extremely close to the University/University Hospital, so I could get to work/school by bike within 10 minutes. Great place to live in general as a student.
